At Vickery Animal Hospital, we are proud to provide Acupuncture Therapy as a part of your pet’s comprehensive veterinary care.  Acupuncture can be used as a primary treatment or in addition to your pet’s current medical treatments.

Acupuncture has been adapted for pets based on the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During the treatment, very small and thin needles are placed strategically based on the individual needs of your pet. It is a very safe and non-painful medical procedure. Traditional Chinese Medicine works with the body’s natural ability to heal and can be helpful in a wide variety of conditions. Treatments are performed by Dr. Jessica Dabbs who is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.

During your pet’s initial appointment, we will discuss the details of your pet’s past and current health. This includes diet, behavior, past and present health conditions, medications, and personality. After a thorough physical exam, we will determine the best combination of acupuncture, herbal medication and diet. Your pet will receive their first acupuncture treatment. Dr. Dabbs will recommend a schedule for follow-up care based on your pet’s individual needs.
